This week in topic we learn interesting facts about the ‘Terrible Tudors’. For our Hook Day we sketched Tudor style portraits and even explored the different herbal remedies that The Tudors used to treat illness. Some of the herbs were very smelly.
We researched the life of Henry VII and his many wives. We memorised the mnemonic for their fate – divorced , behead, died, divorced, beheaded, survived.
In Maths we revised the relationship between decimals and fractions and represented this visually.
For English we delved deeper into the style of Terry Deary, who is the author of the Horrible History’ books. Features of his writing include humour, rhetorical questions, tips and amusing quotations. We then read Horrible History books and identified these features within the books.
